The Commonwealth of Dominica and the Republic of Seychelles establish diplomatic relations

UAE based- Representatives of the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica and the Republic of Seychelles have signed a Joint Communique, establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The signing ceremony took place at the Embassy of the Republic of Seychelles and was followed by discussions on practical ways of strengthening development cooperation between the two small islands States. Ambassadors Hubert John Charles and Jean-Claude Adrienne, agreed on the importance of formalizing development cooperation possibly through an MOU, detailing initiatives for collaboration in critical areas, as tourism, fishing and strengthening resilience to climate change.
 
The Ambassadors also underscored the commitment of their Governments to the promotion of the collaboration in health, particularly through the exchange of experiences on the management of COVID-19 seen as crucial to the revival of their post-pandemic economies. Both the Republic of Seychelles and the Commonwealth of Dominica are the alliance of small island states, members of the AOSIS as well as IRENA, organizations which are concerned with policy collaboration among small islands States in matters of sustainable energy and renewable energy, respectively.
