The Government of Dominica has reached another milestone in its ongoing housing revolution as twenty-six families have received keys to newly built residential apartments in Bellevue Rawle.
The homes were developed by Montreal Management Consultants Establishment Ltd. (MMCE) with resilience at the forefront as Government continues to work towards building a climate resilient nation.
The homes were built with reinforced concrete, a six-inch concrete roof and outfitted with solar water heaters, impact resistant windows, fully fitted kitchens and bathrooms.
Prime Minister of Dominica, Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit stated that his Laboure Party Administration remains committed to ensuring that all Dominicans can live safely and comfortably despite their financial status.
“The Government has the duty and the obligation to help these people. And so, our commitment to lifting people up is unwavering my friends. This is a solemn commitment that we have and we must have for our people,” the Prime Minister Stated.
Meanwhile Senior Minister and Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Reginald Austrie urged recipients to be mindful and respectable to their neighbors. He also informed them that his Ministry will be implement rules and protocols, which all residents are expected to adhere too.
“We at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, our duty is to administer the conditions and terms that must be adopted by each of the resident beneficiaries. We expect strict adherence to the conditions imposed in return for quiet and peaceful possession and enjoyment of your homes without interruptions,” the Housing Minister advised.
