Dominica Citizenship by Investment Programme
Introduced in 1993, the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Programme offered by the Commonwealth of Dominica is considered the best in the world. It provides carefully selected individuals and their families with a legal and secure way of obtaining citizenship in exchange for an investment into Dominica’s economy.
Applicants have two channels to choose from: a contribution to the Economic Diversification Fund (EDF), starting at US$100,000, or an investment into pre-approved real estate worth at least US$200,000. CBI applications can only be submitted through an Authorised Agent, as listed on the Citizenship by Investment Unit (CBIU) website. All applicants must first pass a series of due diligence checks before making an investment. Processing takes between three to four months, as enshrined in Dominican legislation.
If successful, applicants become economic citizens of Dominica, enjoying the same rights as natives except for the right to vote. This includes visa-free and visa-on-arrival access to around 140 destinations worldwide, the right to live, work and study on the island, and benefiting from all the entrepreneurial opportunities Dominica presents.
